I shared my salvation testimony via YouTube and several atheists mocked the fact that when I came to a dark place, due to trials and problems in life, the Lord reached down and chose me, and pulled me up out of the pit of despair. God uses such trials in life to bring us unto Him. Specifically I remember all this confusion was in my head, like numbers swirling around, and the instant I called out “God, if you exist, help me!” all that stopped and I felt a still quiet presence in my soul.
Psalms 147:3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.
The word translated “wounds” in Hebrew עַצֶּבֶת `atstsebeth can also be translated “pain” or “sorrow”. God is the only power in heaven and earth who can do this, eternally.
When the soul is quickened by the Holy Spirit, sin is exposed, guilt is strong, fear is urgent, and the heart begins to relent; a conflict commences, and much distress is felt before pardon from the Saviour is bestowed. — Daily Remembrancer Oct 31 Evening
Putting out your personal testimony on the web, like on YouTube, is personal and comes with risks. It may help some but to the mockers it is like ‘casting your pearls before swine’ (Matthew 7:6).
Matthew 7:6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
…Satan in busy, unbelief is strong, our knowledge of the gospel is imperfect, repentance is difficult, the heart is oppressed, and the spirit is wounded. When man is really broken down before God, is willing to submit to God’s righteousness, and to embrace salvation all of grace, deliverance is near. The Lord sends His word to heal, applies the balm of the Saviour’s blood, speaks peace to the conscience, and sets the sinner free. Reader, if your heart is broken for sin, your God will heal it. Look to the Lord, and hope in His word.– Daily Remembrancer Oct 31 Evening
