White Ribbon Australia supports violence against the unborn

According to an online Catholic publication the Australian charity “White Ribbon” supports late-term abortion. Their claim is supported by White Ribbon’s own position statement on abortion.

That is quite ironic considering that about half of all aborted babies are female, and White Ribbon advocates ending violence against women. Of course the latter is a laudable goal but it is inconsistent with killing babies in the womb, don’t you think?

The following is excerpted from the Catholic Leader:

WHITE Ribbon Australia, known as the “Say no to violence against women” organisation is under scrutiny for supporting late-term abortion.

The nationally-recognised charity has also entered the Queensland election fray by supporting the “It’s Not 1899 Campaign” by Pro Choice Queensland.

White Ribbon is named alongside organisations supporting candidates in the current Queensland election who have made a “pro-choice” pledge to “vote to remove abortion from the criminal code”.

Ahead of White Ribbon Day on November 25, South Australian Christian high school teacher Trevor Grace and his wife Robyn, who runs Pregnancy Help SA, are leading a national campaign to inform organisations of the charity’s pro-abortion stance.

“Few people are aware that White Ribbon supports and endorses full-term abortion,” Mr Grace, a long-standing political activist, said.

He has contacted churches and Christian schools alerting them of White Ribbon Australia’s position statement on women’s reproductive rights which states that the charity believes: “Denying a woman access to contraception and abortion is a denial of basic rights to health care”.

“It is a woman’s right to choose if and when she gets pregnant. It is a woman’s right to seek an abortion,” the White Ribbon statement says.

The front page of White Ribbon Australia‘s website has this statement: “Australia’s campaign to prevent men’s violence against women”. What about women’s violence against the unborn, half of which are female?

Considering November 25th is White Ribbon day in Australia, believing Christians need to take a stand and voice the truth of what is and has been going on with the violent deaths of millions of unborn children. Don’t equivocate, like Hillsong’s NYC mega-pastor Carl Lentz did when he had opportunity to speak in their defense as a guest on “The View.”

“…he took the opportunity to suggest that their deaths can in some cases be justified and that the people killing them should continue living according to their own convictions.”
